Giuliani, Francois, born at Florence in 1760, died 1819, pupil of Nardini for the violin and of Bartholom6 Felici or counterpart. His progress on the violin was so rapid that when quite young he became first violin at the Teutro Nuovo, Florence. His compositions are as follows: Two quartets for two violins, alto and bass; Three duets for two violins; Six duos concertants for two violins ; Twelve duets for violin and 'cello, also some vocal music.
Glaser, Jean Michel, born at Erlangen
in 1725, died-? was at first a fiddlerin the Chapel Royal at Anspach. In 1775, he returned to Erlangen as town-musician, where he resided till his death. Some symphonies of his composition were published at Amsterdam.
Gobbi, Aloys, born at Pesth, Dec. 20th, 1844, where he still lives as an esteemed performer.
Gobel, Johann Ferdinand, born at Baumgarten, Silesia, in 1817, still living (?) Performer, pupil of Pixis for the violin, and of Dionys Weber for composition at the Prague Conservatorium. In 1840 he was appointed first violin at the Breslau theatre and afterwards director of the orchestra there. Amongst his compositions are, variations for the violin, overtures and songs.
