Fiddler and composer, pupil ol Lolli, whom he closely resembled in character and disposition. He joined a wandering troupe of minstrels as musical director, and afterwards settled at Clermont-Ferrand. 'Wranitzky, Anton, born at Neureisch, Moravia, in 1761, died in Vienna in 1819. Fiddler, pupil of his brother Paul. Became capellmeister to Prince Lob-kowitz, and, from about the year 1796, was considered one of the best violinists in Vienna, also highly esteemed as a teacher. Compositions: Concerto for violin; 6 Quintets for strings; 15 quartets for do.; Duos lor violins; 20 variations for two violins; 20 variations for violin and bass; Sonatas; Method for violin.
